Reflection – Fourth Friday in Lent

We shall steer safely through every storm so long as our heart is right, our intention fervent, our courage steadfast, and our trust fixed on God. – St. Francis de Sales

A Lenten Reflection:
With infertility, we all know well a life of uncertainty. These feelings and experiences can be triggered once again with the circumstances we find ourselves currently in our own world. Yet, spring has now sprung, the birds are still singing, I am still breathing, and the sun is still shining. Clinging to and being grateful for the “constants” in our lives helps us to navigate these ambivalent waters. Because a life of uncertainty and failed plans is familiar territory within our hearts, God reminds us that He is our constant, yet again. He is our constant. He will not change. He has not been ‘canceled.’

A Lenten Action:
List out what you are grateful for today. Focus on glorifying God for these things. He is the one who provides and is with us during these “rough waters”, helping us remain steadfast and fervent in our journey through uncertainty. He is with you. Acknowledge His presence, especially when you may be physically distant from others. He is with you. It is time for you to make sure your “heart is right.”
